CODE OF CONDUCT

ALGOSS are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for attendees of all of our events.
ALGOSS conferences are for professional networking and collaboration within the open source community.
We encourage the open exchange of ideas and expression and create an environment that recognizes the inherent values of each person and each group of people.
During ALGOSS all attendees, including members, speakers, attendees, volunteers, sponsors, exhibitors, booth staff and anyone else, should not engage in harassment in any form.
This Code of Conduct may be revised at any time by ALGOSS and the terms are non-negotiable.
Your registration or participation in an ALGOSS event indicates your agreement to abide by this code of conduct and its terms.

Expected behaviour

All ALGOSS participants are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with professional standards, both with this Code of Conduct as well as with their respective employer’s policies governing appropriate behavior in the workplace and applicable laws.

Unacceptable Behavior

Harassment will not be tolerated in any form, including but not limited to harassment based on sex, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, size, race, age, religion or any other status protected by applicable law. Where is the conference or program being held.
Harassment includes the use of abusive, offensive or degrading language, bullying, harassment, harassing photography or recording, inappropriate physical contact, sexual imagery and unwelcome sexual advances or requests for favors sexual. Any reports of harassment at any of our events will be
addressed immediately. Participants asked to cease any harassing behavior must comply immediately.
Anyone who witnesses or experiences unacceptable behavior should immediately notify a conference organizer.
Exhibitors must not use sexualized images, activities or other elements in their exhibits and must refrain from using sexualized clothing, uniforms, costumes or creating a sexualized environment. Speakers must not use sexual language, images or any language or images that would constitute harassment as defined above in their speeches.
Individuals who participate (or plan to participate) in ALGOSS events must conduct themselves at all times in a manner that complies with both the letter and the spirit of this policy prohibiting harassment and abusive behavior, whether before, during or after the event. This includes statements made in social media posts, online posts, text messages and all other forms of electronic communication.

Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the conference organizers may take whatever action they deem appropriate under the circumstances, ranging from issuing a warning to the offending individual to ejection from the conference.
ALGOSS reserves the right to exclude any participant engaging in harassing behavior from further participation in ALGOSS.
If any participant (or person wishing to participate in an ALGOSS event), through social media or other online postings or other form of electronic communication, engages in conduct that violates this policy, whether whether before, during or after the ALGOSS Event, ALGOSS may take appropriate corrective action, which could include imposing a temporary or permanent ban on an individual’s participation in future ALGOSS Events.

What to do if you witness or experience unacceptable acts or behavior

If you are being harassed, notice someone else being harassed, or have other concerns about harassment, please contact a conference staff member immediately. Conference staff can be identified by on-site staff t-shirts/badges; and an organizer can be found at the registration desk at all times.
